{"id":12177,"date":"2025-11-07T12:13:05","date_gmt":"2025-11-07T15:13:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.filantropiacortessolari.cl\/?p=12177"},"modified":"2025-11-07T12:13:05","modified_gmt":"2025-11-07T15:13:05","slug":"wmo-science-for-climate-action-places-scientific-evidence-at-the-heart-of-public-policy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.filantropiacortessolari.cl\/en\/wmo-science-for-climate-action-places-scientific-evidence-at-the-heart-of-public-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"WMO &#8211; \u201cScience for Climate Action\u201d places scientific evidence at the heart of public policy"},"content":{"rendered":"<style type=\"text\/css\"><\/style><p>Bel\u00e9m do Par\u00e1 &#8211; Ahead of the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), the Science for Climate Action Pavilion reaffirms its commitment to strengthening dialogue between science, the public and private sectors, and civil society, in order to inform global climate action and address the planet\u2019s most pressing environmental challenges.<\/p>\n<p>Science for Climate Action Pavilion at COP30 is a joint effort led by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), with the support of the MERI Foundation \u2013the climate arm of Philanthropy Cort\u00e9s Solari\u2013 and the Universit\u00e9 C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur.<\/p>\n<p>Its objective is to strengthen scientific diplomacy within the framework of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) by generating evidence-based knowledge, fostering international scientific cooperation, and promoting constructive dialogue among governments, the scientific community, the private sector, and civil society.<\/p>\n<p>In the context of the triple planetary crisis \u2014 climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution \u2014 this initiative seeks to ensure that multilateral decisions and public policies are grounded in the best available science, driving integrated, equitable, and sustainable solutions.<\/p>\n<p>During COP30, the Science for Climate Action Pavilion, located in the Blue Zone, will serve as a meeting point between science and policy.
